Abstract

Topic: Spent fuel disposal and actinide transmutation
The interest in impurities and activation of structural elements is driven by requirements related and imposed by studies connected to deep geological repositories (DGR). The advances in HELIOS2 and the significant extensions in is depletion chains and supported isotopes allowed the develop-ment and implementation of such model in the Studsvik’s SNF code. Preliminary numerical results based on measured and theoretical impurity contents are presented in this paper. The results from the SNF codes are comparted to an explicit HELIOS2 model.
