ABSTRACT
The brief description of development history of engineering computer codes for the VVER reactors calculations been developed in VVER physics department of NRC «Kurchatov institute», since the end of 50th years of the last century till now, will be given in the report.
The modern status of the basic codes of "Kurchatov institute» for the VVER fuel loadings design and safety analysis (TVS-M, KASKAD-BIPR-PERMAK, BIPR8, PERMAK-3Д, SC1, TOPRA, the ATHLET/BIPR-VVER, TIGR-1, etc.) from the various points of view will be characterised:
- Mission of codes and a solved problems;
- Interaction of codes;
- Interesting features of calculational models;
- Degree of verification and reliability of calculations; * Accuracy of calculation of target parameters;
- Lacks and problems, perspective directions of codes development.
Some specific problems which are shown during designing of fuel cycles, perfection of fuel and technologies will be commented. They demand decision within the complex of programs and, accordingly, demand the further development of a complex or working out and inclusion in a complex of new programs. Such problems concern:
*VVER calculations at using the spectral regulation of criticality (instead of boric regulation); - Definition pin-by-pin power distribution in transients (including fast processes), etc. In the report the information on creation of the KASKAD user Club, the Club format,
and also conditions of participation in current work and single actions of Club will be given.
