Abstract
Until recently, computer code certificates indicated no fuel burnup calculation errors. In the same time, these errors should be taken into account while checking the discharged fuel burnup limit, as well as while checking the local linear heat rate and local linear heat rate ramp limits depending on fuel burnup. This paper intends to connect the fuel burnup calculation error with the calculation error related to fuel power distribution for the contemporary VVER fuel cycle. This paper also attempts to analyze the burnup calculation error in the framework of random functions theory, on the basis of power density correlation function. This paper also contains examples of estimated errors for burnup calculations performed for characteristic VVER fuel loads.
