Abstract

At present time SSTC N&RS uses HELIOS code for few group cross section library
generation for WWER reactor cores calculations. There is actual problem of choice of
appropriate approach to implement cross section library into DYN3D code. Report provides a
survey of the used by SSTC approaches ? multidimensional table and polynomial
dependencies. Capabilities and possible extensions of each approach are described with
inherent advantages and disadvantages. Additionally the question of model development and
cross section preparation for WWER-1000 radial reflector with accounting of discontinuity
factors is covered. Brief results of calculations with the use of different approaches are
presented.
The work was performed in framework of orders SR 2511 and R0801504 (SR2611)
under German BMU support.
