Abstract
The paper gives an experimental substantiation for the current methods of accounting the
effects produced by the changed shape of VVER-1000 fuel assembly to power distribution in
reactor core. The experimental part of the researches was performed at critical test facility P at
NRC ?Kurchatov Institute?. The neutron-physics calculations of the mathematical model of
the test facility were carried out by computer code MCU-PD. The paper gives in brief the
characteristics of the test facility, description of the types of the discussed compositions of
fuel assemblies, and evaluation of measured and calculated data. We reached a good
agreement between the calculated and measured data that reflect the effects of FA gaps to rod
power density.
